Day 1: DESSAU

Your journey begins with a tour of the Bauhaus building designed by Walter Gropius. After an afternoon snack in the dining hall or the café-bistro, head to the estate of Masters’ Houses, where Bauhaus masters Paul Klee und Oskar Schlemmer lived, among others. Afterwards, visit the Törten Estate, which is considered one of the prime examples of social housing, or pay a visit to the newly opened Bauhaus Museum. In the evening, enjoy the Bauhaus atmosphere in the Kornhaus by the Elbe River.

You can explore the sights of Lutherstadt Wittenberg with a pleasant walk through the city. Afterwards, visit the Piesteritz housing estate, designed by Georg Haberland and Otto Rudolf Salvisberg – one of the first car-free housing estates in Germany. 

Day 2: LUTHERSTADT WITTENBERG

Day 3: HALLE (SAALE) AND MAGDEBURG

Start off the morning with a sightseeing tour around Halle. After exploring the city, head over to the Moritzburg Art Museum. Various works of famous Bauhaus artists are on display here, including Lyonel Feininger or Paul Klee. In the afternoon, travel onward to Magdeburg. A guided sightseeing tour of modernist buildings, such as the colorful Otto-Richter-Straße, the Cracau estate and the “Reform” urban garden colony, will show you the city in a whole new light. 

To start the day, take a sightseeing tour of the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city of Quedlinburg. After visiting the cathedral treasury, the route continues to the Lyonel Feininger Gallery. The afternoon will take you to Elbingerode, where you can visit the Deaconess Mother House developed by Godehard Schwethelm.
